Pueblo Niños

Pueblo Niños is pastel.  Kindly note Efrain does something unusual.  He uses pastel, which is essentially chalk, as if it were oil.  It is not oil pastel.  It is pastel done with a technique he discovered ... and teaches.

The frame is interesting too.  It is painted tin and made specifically for this piece.   Done by Oswaldo, an artist in his own right, he works on Mexican time, but if you want a custom frame, he is amazing.

The original photograph was taken by Patrice Wynne.  This work sold mid 2010 and a portion of the proceeds was donated to Patrice's favorite charity.

Morning, Sunshine!

Morning, Sunshine is the first in a series of waking nudes.  Almost all black and white pastel, it is still a mixed media. The soft sensual curves were so real people would try to touch the work.  She showed at William Martin’s gallery from 6 February 2010 for about three weeks and then sold to a gentleman from Queretero who bought it as a gift.
